Ethan Feerst

My name is Ethan Feerst. I have built a great team of webgineers, and have taken on some challenging custom projects that use concrete5, but that function more like software. My background is in visual arts, film, and live theater -- which I produced for many years. When I began my tech practice in 2003, I worked exclusively with business owners and their employees. I like to help businesses realize their vision, and I like to help automate different functions for them.

In general, we are building and back-end-customizing sites built on Concrete5 (5.6 and 5.7), Wordpress and Magento CE; B2B and portfolio sites, online stores, many B2B features geared to business operations; back-end tools, merchant services and payment processing, one-time purchases and recurring subscription packages, custom mods for staff and management needs; also a number of unique product database and inventory management solutions.

For the last few years, my company's focus has been with custom website builds that involve a lot of piping; we build a lot of our own middleware in order to support multiple APIs and complex synchronizations from various tech partner solutions that our clients need.

Feerst co-founded San Diego’s Sledgehammer Theatre where he created and produced over 45 productions (over 1200 performances), including 15 world premieres, six west coast premieres, and productions in New York and Los Angeles. During Feerst’s tenure, the company achieved prominent regional status and national visibility, including the notable American Theater cover story and primer “How to Sledgehammer Theater” on “The Bad Boys of San Diego Theatre.” Sledgehammer is now a well-recognized institution in Southern California that recently began its 24th season. Under Feerst’s leadership, the company received numerous Back Stage West Awards for excellence in West Coast theatre, several San Diego Theatre Critics Circle/Outstanding Achievement awards, Drama-Logue awards for design and performance, KPBS awards for outstanding production, design, direction and performance, and many "best of the year" lists in the San Diego Union-Tribune, Orange County Weekly and other regional publications.

Feerst has served as a grant panelist for the California Arts Council, chair of San Diego’s Coalition for Arts and Culture, and as allocations consultant to the City of San Diego / Commission for Arts and Culture.
